Shipping Clerk working in the Transportation Department
Summary
Under the direction of the Transportation Supervisor, will be responsible to ensure orders are shipped on time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Prepare various types of transportation billing documents.
Read Shipping order to determine quantity, make determination as to type of transportation Needed (UPS, FEDEX, LTL and USPS).
Compare identifying information and counts, weights, and/or measure items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading.
Contact carriers to make arrangements and to issue instructions for loading products.
Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet customer specifications.
Operate forklift and pallet jacks to move, convey, or hoise shipments from shipping and receiving platform to loading dock and/or trucks.
Loads product into containers and/or trucks as needed.
Education and/or Experience
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Inventory software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Pay Range: $13.00-$14.00 an hour 7am - 3:30pm.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
